Speech at the Session on "Energy Security: Emerging Energy Security Risks and Risk Mitigation - A Global Overview and Global Energy Security and the Caspian Sea Region" at the UNECE COMMITTEE ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY 15th ANNUAL SESSION, "SUSTAINABLE ENERGY POLICIES: THE KEY TO ENERGY SECURITY", 28-30 November 2006, Geneva.

  2. The Executive Vice-President of MIPC has conducted series of meetings with energy company officials, the US Administration and Congress members in Washington DC on 12-14 December 2005.

MIPC, in partnership with RusEnergy, will be holding the Third Annual Russian Fuel and Energy Complex (TEK 2003) Award Ceremony (Russian Energy Oscars), on March 19, 2004 / Третье ежегодное вручение премии российского топливно- энергетического комплекса 2003 ("Нефтегазовый Оскар"), организаторы ММНК и информационно-аналитическая компания RusEnergy, 19 марта 2004 г.

  6. International symposium "Russian oil - reserves, current state of affairs and possibilities for transfer towards innovational structure of the Russian social-economic system" (April 2004), co-organized with the government of the city of Moscow / Международный симпозиум: "Нефть России - запасы, состояние и возможности перезода к инновационному укладу российской социально-экономической системы" (апрель 2004 г.), организаторы: ММНК и правительство Москвы.

  7. Participated in the "Rehabilitation and development of Iraq's Petroleum Sector" conference, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 20-21, 2003, as well as International Energy Advisory Council meeting in London, October 24-25.

  8. In the presence of official representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economic Development and the Departments of Energy from Russia and the US, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MIPC members OAO StroyTransGaz and Key Energy Services Inc., at the Second Russian-American Energy Business Summit in St. Petersburg held in September 2003. This unique MOU is the first project of the kind, as no oil and gas specialists from Russia have been invited to the USA before. The goal of the two companies, each leading in its field, is to exchange knowledge and experience in the technology of oil and gas production increase when operating in severe Northern conditions.   17. The July'02 issue of the "America Illustrated" magazine was dedicated to the energy issues and the oil and gas sector (see contents). MIPC/MMNK was featured, along with members of the club LUKoil and Itera, as well as government and diplomatic efforts to expand Russian-American cooperation in the energy sector.   21. International Conference "Caspian Sea: Legal Issues" which was held at the President Hotel in Moscow, on February 26-27, 2002. List of speakers available (MS Word, in Russian).
    Caspian Conference

    Conference was focused on the legal status of the Caspian Sea and legal issues of exploration and development of Caspian energy resources. Conference is organized by the International Institute for Fuel and Energy Complex of MGIMO-University of the R.F. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow International Petroleum Club, Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Association of the International Law.

    High officials and policy-makers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iran, USA who directly influence the Caspian policy, members of parliament, representatives of international organizations, Russian and foreign international law scholars and experts, heads of Russian and foreign oil and gas companies spoke at the Conference. A press conference and reception were held at the end of the first day of the event.

    26-27 февраля 2002 года в Президент-отеле в Москве прошла международная конференция «Каспий: правовые проблемы», посвященная проблемам правового статуса Каспия, а также правовым аспектам его использования и изучения.

    Организаторы конференции: Международный институт топливно-энергетического комплекса МГИМО (У) МИД России, Московский международный нефтегазовый клуб, Российская академия наук и Российская ассоциация международного права.

    В конференции приняли участие высокие официальные представители России, Азербайджана, Ирана, Казахстана, Туркменистана, США, имеющие непосредственное отношение к формированию и осуществлению каспийской политики, российские парламентарии, представители международных организаций, крупнейшие отечественные и зарубежные ученые в области международного права, руководители ведущих российских и зарубежных нефтегазовых компаний.


  22. "Achievement in Russian Fuel and Energy Complex" Award Contest conducted jointly by MIPC and RusEnergy.com: an Information Letter. More details on the award contest with rankings (in Russian). The official results of the contest were announced in Moscow on February 15, 2002 at a special ceremony.

  23. The Third Russian Energy Summit (RES III) "PSA’2001: INVESTMENT INTO THE XXI CENTURY", was held in Moscow on December 10-11, 2001. The summit participants adopted wide-ranging recommendations to the Government of the Russian Federation.     Read Oil & Gas Vertical, a leading Russian energy-related journal. The February 2002 (2/02) issue was dedicated entirely to the PSA III conference, co-organized by MIPC/MMNK.


  24. The New York Times: Russian Oil Production Still Soars, for Better and Worse (Nov 21, 2001)

  25. Russian Energy Day was held on September 19, 2001, in the Monarch Hotel, Washington D.C. in partnership with The Nixon Center. The Energy Day included a presentation of a special issue of the "International Affairs" journal featuring materials of the Second Russian Energy Summit. The event was held under the patronage of Igor Ivanov, Russian Foreign Minister. U.S. Secretary of Energy, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, a number of influential U.S. Congressmen, other Washington dignitaries attended this Club's event. The Presentation was followed by a Reception - Fourchette. The Russian group besides Foreign Minister included senior executives of the Russian energy companies and plenipotentiary representatives of various ministries.
